home and Office Interior Designers

Interior designers often enter a home armed with a veritable arsenal of creativity and subcontracted resources. In many cases, the secondary services a decorator brings in under his or her invoice adds a certain specialized expertise to robust décor. Professional lighting equipment and lighting design services are crucial to this mix. With the right levels of light, both glare and shadow are dispelled, and the texture and color of artwork springs to light.

If you are currently working with an interior decorator or interior design firm, we recommend you point them in our direction if they encounter any of the following scenarios relative to fine art and display lighting systems. While a great many interior designers are already working with Phantom Lighting products, many are still discovering us for the first time.

Your interior designer will most likely recommend new artwork as part of his or her overall plan for creating a new look within your home.

Private art collections can transform an interior into a realm of sophistication with very little physical change to the room. The trick is to find equipment from a lighting fixture manufacturer that will maximize the impact of your new collection without damaging the artwork itself or interfering with general room lighting. Any interior designer will tell you that the two biggest aesthetic obstacles to overcome when lighting art are shadows and glare. Any curator or experienced collector will also add that the greatest technological threat to art lighting is ultraviolet radiation and infrared heat—both of which can literally destroy priceless works of creativity and many hours of hard work on the part of your designers.

New Home Interior Design Ideas

New Home Interior Design Ideas

New Home Interior Design Ideas

Many interior design students want to get into new home interior design. It is a fun career with lots of interaction with people. When people purchase a new home, they immediately want to start on designing. This is where the educated interior designer comes in handy. They will instruct their clients that major re-design could affect your decorating for years to come. If you choose a bold color for the walls, will your furniture be coordinated? Alternatively, do you have to purchase new furniture? Many people will paint their walls a neutral color and then alter their design plans later. It is easy to get carried away when all you see are large open empty rooms. Try working on one room at a time, that way you can blend one room into another.

Students will learn all aspects of new home interior design such as wallpapering is not as popular as it once was as many people have found that removing wallpaper is not a pleasant task. Instead of wallpaper for your new home interior design, choose a creative wall finish such as faux finishing, sponging or stenciling. These types of finish will add texture to your walls. In addition, they are easier to change than wallpaper. If you really must use wallpaper, try using just a border.

New home interior design can involve simple tips and or tricks that all students will learn. Such as for a small room, try a light wall color. For a large room try contrasting colors and textures. When you are ready to accessorize try using accent colors to really make the room modern and pleasing to the eye.
Placing of mirrors and wall hangings such as pictures and art will go a long way in completing your new home interior design plans. However, do not over clutter the walls. Establish some key focal points around the room that will complement the overall design of your room.

The room sizes of your new home will likely be different from your previous home. Thus, it is important to plan the design themes of your new home. Get a tape measure, start measuring the dimensions of the rooms, and measure your furniture and even the doorways. You may find that the box spring will not go up the winding staircase thus causing you to create a main floor bedroom. New home interior design can be fun but also stressful and expensive for the client, so it is up to the designer to stay within the allotted budget and also provide an excellent service.

Home Office Design Trends For 2010

Home Office Design Trends For 2010Did you know that more than half of all U.S. businesses are home-based? Did you also know - according to the Small Business Association - they estimate approximately 6.6 million of these businesses provide more than half of their household income? The homeprenuer trend is growing, and will only continue to intensify. So how do we create that home office to provide us with a positive environment in which to grow?

Since almost 90% of home-based entrepreneurs have families, separating the living and working environments can prove to be a little tricky. So pick a spot in your home, where noise and traffic are at a minimum and privacy is optimum. A separate guesthouse outside, or a room above your garage, would be the ideal location for your home office, but the reality is that the typical home-based business is located inside the house.

Entrepreneurs, tend to be highly creative and innovative people - and their work environments should reflect that aspect of their personality. If your home office space is stimulating and sparks innovation, then your creativity just flows. When it's dull, drab and dingy your work will suffer the same fate. We've entered a new decade. Isn't it time to "Up the Ante"?

Whether you're purchasing new office furniture, re-painting your space or simply accessorizing, punch up your home office environment and infuse a few of these cool new design trends into your plan.
